Adorned with the Greatest Fortune

Abstract

This brief essay is partly a tribute to a teacher who has died, and partly a tribute to a lesson from him that I am still carrying Thich Nhat Hanh's work got into my blood, as should happen in scholarly work when it works properly, and I've been nourished ever since. The essay also glances up against how the arrival of my grandson (now 18 months old) and even events in Ukraine have woken me up to find this tribute, dust it off, and offer it.
