Salmonberry Community School Turns 25!

HER’s mission is in part to lift up the voices of holistic education practice and connect the holistic education community. With this mission in mind, we’d like to offer public recognition and congratulations to Salmonberry Community School, on Orcas Island, WA, a widely recognized exemplar of K-12 holistic education since 2001. This June marks the 25th anniversary of the school’s founding. Through its pursuit of deep learning, nurturing children’s social-emotional intelligence, and embodying whole child, relationship-based, place-based, community education, Salmonberry is a kind of “lab school” for holistic education.
